With six
items that will cost you less than $100 you can build an electric free space
heater for your home or green house.
How it
works-
Copper
is an amazing heat conductor. Sand can be heated to 500 degrees before it melts
and is perfect for holding heat. As the candle heats the copper it heats the
whole bucket which creates a radiant heater. The Crisco candle burns for days
and can last up to a week before swapping out. The stone base is used to keep your
floor form getting warm.
Step 1-
Build your candle.
Melt the
shortening and pour into a mason jar with the candle wick. Let dry. This will
create a long burn candle that will last up to 7 days.
Step 2- Build your heater base
Cut the
copper roll so that it makes a circle touching the sides and bottom of the beer
bucket. Make sure the copper is about 2 inches above the top of the bucket.
Step 3-
Pour in sand
Step 4-
Place the candle in the sand about an inch or so from the top of the copper.
Thats
it!
